This is problematic and requires some explication: these are indeed ancient Indian mantras and chants dating back some 2200 years -- some of them and have been passed down generation to generation into modern times. The presentation of these sacred offerings, however, is strictly contemporary. DJ and producer Mark Bell and his crew enlisted Bombay Jayasaree, and Richa Sharma -- who are reportedly famous Indian playback singers -- to perform these ancient chants, prayers, and mantras with postmodern technology. You can make up your own mind because on some level, this seems disrespectful to a lineage and tradition that have nothing to do with the West, but then again, the major mark of spirituality is to present itself in many guises to anyone interested. ~ Thom Jurek
