Sin Compasión is Pasión Vega's first album of originals since 2006's La Reina del Pay-Pay. Produced by Jacob Sureda and featuring a duet with Cuban singer/songwriter Raúl Paz on "Bolero con Ron," Sin Compasión is a typically lavish production of sophisticated adult contemporary Spanish/Latin American music, a set of mainstream pop and ballads designed to showcase Vega's voice and discreetly touch on Latin American genres such as the bolero and the habanera, the Portuguese fado, and of course Vega's own roots as a copla singer. Songwriters include Jesús Bienvenido, Antonio Romera, Ricardo Rivera Mora, Pedro Guerra, Paloma Ramírez, and Manuel Carrasco, the latter responsible for the lead single, "Rincones Oscuros."
