Trace Adkins goes indie for Something's Going On, his first album for Wheelhouse records and first since 2013's Love Will. "Jesus and Jones," his first single from the album, paid tribute to his faith and musical inspirations, while "Watered Down," the record's second single, signaled that he's settling down into his status as a veteran. Produced by Mickey Jack Cones, the album also includes songs co-written by Chris Cavanaugh ("Something's Going On"), Phil O'Donnell ("Still a Soldier," "Whippoorwills and Freight Trains," "Hang") and Tommy Lee James ("Gonna Make You Miss Me," "Country Boy Problems"). ~ Stephen Thomas Erlewine
