George Strait has demonstrated tremendous staying power since he hit the country scene in the early '80s with a style that drew heavily from country greats from the past, and he's made few attempts at updating his sound. Still, he's managed to navigate his way through the "new country" minefield and has continued to have monster chart hits even into the 21st century. This set collects some of his earlier hits, including the classics "All My Ex's Live in Texas" and "Amarillo by Morning." There's way more to the story than what's here, of course, but it makes for a nice starting point.
