"Brave" may not be the first word to come to mind when you think of
Marvin Goldstein; maybe talented, inspiring, or creative. But as each album shows a new facet of Marvin's abilities, he makes another addition to his bag of tricks on Sweet Dreams. The entire album is improvisational, meaning he recorded each song as it came out the first time, and that takes a lot of guts. It is almost a genre-changing mark for the pianist; these pieces are more new age than any of his other works, akin to the likes of Jim Brickman or David Sylvester II. Listeners find more minor keys and more exploration since these are some of Marvin's few original songs. Highlights: "A New Morning," "Good Rainy Days," "A Glimmering Ocean," and "Sunlit Stars." ~ Jared Johnson
