On the seven-song EP
The Album, Part 1 --
Chase Rice's first release since 2017's full-length,
Lambs & Lions -- the North Carolina native continues to move away from the bro-country style of his earlier output, adopting a stadium-ready style that's decidedly more pop- and rock-oriented, though still rooted in Nashville.
Rice co-wrote four of the EP's tracks, which range in tone from pumped-up anthems to romantic acoustic ballads, as well as co-producing the lead single "Lonely If You Are." ~ Timothy Monger
