Tom Abbs wrote the music for a film about the role that emotions can play in one's life.
The Animated Adventures of Knox consists of a CD of the music from the film, and a DVD of the movie itself. Both hold one's interest, being full of surprises, abstract sounds, and fiery playing.
Alex Harding's baritone and
Oscar Noriega's clarinet playing are standouts with the musicians not being held back by the film; in fact, the music preceded and inspired the movie, and each of the musicians is assigned a specific musical role in the film. The movie has its moments but is a bit difficult to watch in spots with the camera work and the story line not being on the same level as the soundtrack music. Still, this is an intriguing release.
