Yup, lots of songs about indulging in the seamier side of urban life. Comrads have a gift for serving up raw and funky beats in plentiful amounts, as well as a few compelling rhymes. This is pure West Coast style hip-hop, with few musical samples and a lot of mechanical, metronomic beats.

"Candy Land" is an unsettling number in which a juvenile rapper runs down various sweet treats while the sounds of the street echo in the background. On "Playa Hayta" the group explores a bit of vocalizing, with positive results; they can sing on key, which is a rarity for many rappers today. If you're still looking for that perfect gangsta disc, you could do a lot worse than these Comrads.
