In England, before
the Beatles and
the Rolling Stones came along, EPs (four-song extended play singles) outsold albums. This compilation of the best of
Donegan's EPs is the definitive
Lonnie Donegan collection, eclipsing any album or CD that existed previously on his work. It is certainly the best hits compilation there ever has been on him, containing the 1956 hit "Rock Island Line" and its B-side, "Digging My Potatoes," plus 23 more fairly hard-rocking tracks dating up through 1962, all very crisply remastered, with original artwork represented and a very detailed biography.
