Graeme Revell (Sin City, Kingdom of Heaven, Pitch Black) dials in the score for director Rupert Wainwright's remake of the
John Carpenter classic The Fog with the kind of precision that can only come from having worked on over 80 films. Opening with the obligatory dissonant strings over thunderous tympani rolls,
Revell then visits the moody piano motif from Nightmare on Elm Street, the synth-based minimalism of Halloween, and back again. Anybody looking for a deviation from the standard horror score will be disappointed, but those who equate the word "reliable" with the genre will raise their bloodied hands in appreciation. ~ James Christopher Monger
