Tristan Psionic also deliver a very bracing pop sound, but with a much heavier emphasis on indie rock, particularly the loud/soft dynamic of grunge. Riffs are bouncing and jagged, and while everything carries an unmistakable sense of melody, none of it is polished enough to sound sweet or slick. Though they'd get a bit more experimental on subsequent releases, this one is pretty straightforward. ~ Sean Carruthers
