The performances are excellent on this long out-of-print MCA LP but there is less than half an hour of music and no personnel listing. Composer-singer-pianist
Hoagy Carmichael is mostly featured with trios from his Decca years although there are also a few orchestral tracks. With the exception of 1951's "My Resistance Is Low" (which was a hit at the time) the music dates from 1939, 1942 and 1946-47.
Hoagy performs ten of his songs including "Stardust," "Rockin' Chair," "Riverboat Shuffle," "The Old Music Master" and "Ole Buttermilk Sky." Hopefully this delightful music will someday resurface on CD in more complete fashion.
