Released in the U.K. by Sony,
The World's Greatest is a two-disc
R. Kelly anthology that spans 1993-2010, covering the singer's debut album with
Public Announcement through
Love Letter. It can't be termed definitive since it contains a few deep cuts -- as well as non-album singles like "Hair Braider" -- and is missing some crucial hits. Then again, no compilation of this length could fit the bill. During these years, the singer placed 33 singles in the Top 20 of Billboard's R&B chart, and his catalog has significant depth beyond that. Among the many essentials here: "She's Got That Vibe," "Bump 'N Grind [Old School Mix]," "You Remind Me of Something," "Ignition [Remix]," "Step in the Name of Love," and "Love Letter."
