There aren't too many gal hardcore bands, because the genre is so extremely male-oriented. It's all about screaming and grunting like a dog or a swamp monster, thrashing your instruments around, moshing, and being upset about how your buddies dissed you, a constant theme especially with New York hardcore bands.
Berzerk, a band from Portland, OR, has a half-chicks, half-dudes lineup and lays down some ferocious-sounding hardcore, delivered with a wallop. There's definitely a metal influence in there and the lyrics are somewhat doom-laden, but these Berzerkers are punks and when the songs really kick in, it's straightforward hardcore. The rhythm section is tight. Joanne, the singer, doesn't have an amazing voice, but she's got the attitude down and has to be the most attractive girl to ever sing for a hardcore band. The songs are not so distinguishable from one another (like with all hardcore bands), but the standout is the title cut, probably the best song
Berzerk has recorded yet.
