While choosing a career path, Nashville Renaissance man Keith Anderson dabbled in everything from modeling and competitive bodybuilding to engineering and physical therapy. Songwriting, however, piqued his interest like no other pursuit, and before long Anderson had penned hits for Garth Brooks, George Jones, and Gretchen Wilson. Meanwhile, Anderson developed a high-energy live show that found him playing for crowds of 10,000 fans before he had even signed a record contract.
Anderson's debut, THREE CHORD COUNTRY AND AMERICAN ROCK & ROLL, shows what all the excitement was about, showcasing a vibrant, lighthearted set of blue-collar anthems. The record celebrates the virtues of the simple life with smooth, vocal harmonies and twangy guitars reminiscent of the Eagles and Pure Prairie League. "Wrap Around" features a storming blues-style groove and naughty lyric that recalls the heyday of Huey Lewis & the News, while "Lazy with Your Love" is a gentle ballad, driven by tinkling Fender Rhodes piano. An album as full of musical variety as catchy tunes, THREE CHORD COUNTRY clearly shows that Keith Anderson made the right career choice.
