Italian brothers Maurizio and Roberto Opalio have pushed their unique take on drone-infused, electro-acoustic improvisation since the late ‘90s, releasing a myriad of homemade and private-press editions under the moniker My Cat Is an Alien. THROUGH THE MAGNIFYING GLASS OF TOMORROW is a cross-generational collaboration between MCIAA and Enore Zaffiri, composer and founder of SMET (Studio di Musica Elettronica di Torino), and one of the pioneering figures of radical Italian electronic music. Featuring over two hours of music spanning a CD and a DVD, the album contains hauntingly beautiful soundscapes that are by turn abrasive, meditative, and steeped in the arcane.
