A British record label founded in 1968 by Lee Gopthal and specializing in licensing ska, rocksteady, reggae, dub, and other Jamaican sides for international distribution, Trojan Records has a deep catalog of late-'60s and early-'70s Jamaican classics that the label, now under the Sanctuary Records umbrella, recycles into themed compilations like this one, which features sides done by female artists.
