Sequel to the successful
Unio Mystica, this CD introduces tenor Baulé in astonishing duets with soprano Tania Maya, together with a choir of male voices and accompanied by various sounding textures on piano, keyboards, and synthesizers performed by
Corciolli. Also, there are several ethnic percussions by Roberto Angerosa. Ancient lyrics by Hildegard von Bingen (translated to Portuguese in the booklet) are sung in Latin and were extracted from original writings of the Middle Ages and the Roman Catholic Liturgy. In this harmony of sounds, he expresses his feelings that lead us to classical music, develops more modern interpretations with harmonies and jazz improvisations, and inserts elements from the pop music as well, transporting the listener to a meditative state and sometimes to a sensation of life exultation. This CD was co-produced by Carlos Freitas, who already worked with
João Gilberto and Arthur Moreira Lima. A nice graphic project that includes pictures and paintings of old eras was also included in the booklet. ~ Cesar Lanzarini
