Dropping from a four-singer formation on their previous effort (2012's Emerging Voices) and going down to a front-facing duo (Chris Quilala and
Kim Walker-Smith) the Bethel Church-associated
Jesus Culture return with the thematically sound
Unstoppable Love, an album that looks to be an audio reflection of the Lord's love of mankind. Sure enough, open-hearted and grand numbers like "Sing Out," "We Will Run," and the title track build and emote at all the right moments, and while the songwriting is sincere and solid, there's an argument to be made that bunched together, all the like-minded and big worship tracks are blunted in their effect. Still, it's the
Jesus Culture album to grab when nothing but the most stately songs are what's required. ~ David Jeffries
