This is a CD reissue of an album recorded in 1973. Marisa is a less-known singer who had some success as a jazz crooner at Copacabana Palace's Golden Room. In her first album from 1953, she was one of the first singers to bet on João Gilberto, recording his "Você Esteve Com Meu bem," and was introduced by him to the bossa nova gang, when she began to perform in the bossa temples of the cult Beco das Garrafas. Far better than the average singer, on this album produced by the talented and perfectionist Hermínio Bello de Carvalho she presents a mature voice, in sensitive interpretations for an eclectic repertory comprising Caymmi, Ary Barroso, Custódio Mesquita, Joubert de Carvalho, the rural rock of Sá, Rodrix and Guarabyra, the carioca Joyce, and the northeastern Gonzaguinha. In simple, economic arrangements where the weakest point is the dated organ sounds, she also performs the biggest hits of her career, like "Ta-Hi! (Pra Você Gostar de Mim)" and "Viagem." Excellent repertory and poetic singing interpretations in a meditative, never explosive or hot album.
