Walk On is a
James Taylor-esque combination of folk, pop, and country.
Bruce Carroll's singer/songwriter credits lend the album an authenticity it wouldn't otherwise have. His songs have a folksy, tender honesty to them, particularly "Sometime When We Love," a song about a girl's decision to give her baby up for adoption, and "What We Were Fighting For," about mending the hurts between father and son. "Road Back Home" is another outstanding song; it's a vulnerable song about disappointment and homecoming.
Carroll has a very consistent style on the album; he never strays too far from an acoustic folk/country sound, but this works to his advantage. This is a well-crafted, thoughtful, positive album. ~ Melinda Hill
