Ken Mellons constructs a balanced mix of tear-jerking ballads, honky tonk rockers, and plaintive, straightforward traditional country.
Mellons performs the songs convincingly, but he is occasionally hurt by a lack of quality songwriting, as evidenced by the single "Rub-A-Dubbin."
