One of the founding members of New Jersey's eight-man crew
Outsidaz steps outside
The Bricks for his debut solo album. Having previously been floated on promo as The Pacewon Effect, it's a surprise to see both "Oriental" and "Secret" cut from this release, with the resultant selection offering little more than a barrage of thug talk. The pumps, cheeba, and general miscreant blinged braggadocio become a little overbearing over 21 tracks, though there is enough production quirk from
Jay-Z deskman
SKI to keep iterant ears from wandering too far. Further vocals are injected by
Kurupt,
Rah Digga, and fellow
Outsida Young Zee as well as
Wyclef Jean, who returns the favor of
Pace's contribution to
the Fugees' multi-platinum
Score. ~ Kingsley Marshall
