Danish EDM producer and DJ
Toby Green has been steadily releasing bright, energetic club cuts and dance-pop remixes since the early 2010s, scoring hits with heavily streamed tracks such as 2016's rave homage "Everytime."
Torben Frederiksen hails from Aarhus, Denmark, a city with an avid club scene. He first started releasing music as
Toby Green around 2011, the year he remixed "Dirty Hands" by Danish pop star
Sisse Marie. Soon afterwards, he remixed tracks by artists like Welker and
Faustix, and began releasing singles on EDM labels like
Spinnin' Records and disco:wax, in collaboration with producers such as
Mike Hawkins and
Merk & Kremont. He soon attracted the attention of EDM heavyweights such as
Hardwell,
Sander van Doorn, and
Don Diablo, all of whom released
Toby Green tracks on their respective labels. With uplifting melodies, siren-like synths, and electronically altered vocals, tracks like 2015's "Move" and 2016's "Everytime" racked up millions of streams.
Green continued releasing solo tracks like "Flicker" and "Lift Me Up," in addition to remixing songs by
Pegboard Nerds,
Nicky Romero,
Maggie Rogers, and many others. He appeared on Dutch producer
Sam Feldt's 2017 album Sunrise, co-producing the track "Chasing After You." In 2018,
Green released singles on
Steve Aoki's Dim Mak Records ("Beyond Mars," featuring
Kris Kiss) and
Tiësto's
Musical Freedom Records ("Ready"). ~ Paul Simpson
