This collection of the great gypsy guitarist
Django Reinhardt's work contains songs recorded in 1945 and between 1950 and 1953. The two tracks from 1945, "Apple Honey" and "Dream of You," feature
Reinhardt with the A.T.C. Band, a group made up of U.S. servicemen. The remaining six tracks have the same format as his classic quintets: three guitars, violin, and bass. The identities of the players and when the tracks were cut is not information that is revealed in
Leonard Feather's liner notes. This set is really only of interest to
Reinhardt fanatics and completists. They will most likely be frustrated by the vague notes and lack of credit but will find the music to be of great value.
