In an honest attempt to restore the Force Tracks name to the legendary status it achieved throughout the '90s, the label has recruited several young up-and-coming producers to help it along the way. With this latest installment,
Drei Farben House offers up an 11-song cycle. It's extremely lush and stylish disco house of the highest order, and if this were released in 2000 it would be heralded as a quality release. And while it might come across as a bit dated, for those tired of minimal techno this could very well be a welcome intermission. The title track sounds like an updated blueprint already laid down by
Luomo during his
Vocal City phase, and it would be a dead ringer if he would have used a cooing female vocal instead of a slightly awkward-sounding European male. All in all, though, it's an impressive debut that remains consistent and enjoyable from beginning to end. ~ Rob Theakston
