Asa's voice has almost never been as precise, as balanced or as emotionally limpid as it is on this third album. All the melodic grace and all the tender flights that made her famous are still there, but with even more troubling precision. The songs on Bed of Stone speak of much more than Bukola Elemide's feelings, Asa denotes. Melancholy, reverie, meditation and contemplation all find a perfect backdrop in this album. © Clotilde Maréchal/Qobuz
