This four-song EP followed the cult success of
Sinister Slaughter, seeming more like an attempt to capitalize on the success of that album than an honest attempt to get new music out to fans. There isn't anything essential here. Of the four songs, three are originals, and the other is a cover of
Black Sabbath's "Behind the Wall of Sleep." As expected,
Macabre gives the early
Black Sabbath tune a perverse twist, which makes for an interesting initial listen or two but isn't worth the price of the EP. And since the other three tracks aren't anything special either (though "Slaughter Thy Poser" does date back to 1985 when the group first began), it's nice to have this EP added to the 2000 re-release of
Sinister Slaughter (
Sinister Slaughter/Behind the Wall of Sleep) as bonus tracks.
