Beneath Your Beautiful is a contracted -- rather than expanded -- edition of
Labrinth's 2012 U.K. debut album,
Electronic Earth. It consists of six cuts taken from the ten-track album and is led by the title track, a duet with
Emile Sandé that reached number one in the U.K. It's not an ideal EP, given the available material, since one of the inclusions is a frivolous and clumsy cover of
Charles Wright and the Watts 103rd Street Rhythm Band's 1971 soul-funk classic "Express Yourself." More than anything, this showcases the stylistic range of the producer/singer's first album.
