Blame It on the Boogie contains 20 disco hits. They're all contained in the single edit format; it's not the best way to experience disco (extended grooves were as important to disco as guitar solos were to hard rock), but it is hard to argue with a track listing that gives any attention to
LaBelle's "Lady Marmalade,"
Earth, Wind & Fire's "Let's Groove,"
Kool & the Gang's "Get Down on It,"
Heatwave's "Boogie Nights,"
Chic's "Dance, Dance, Dance (Yowsah, Yowsah, Yowsah),"
Sister Sledge's "He's the Greatest Dancer," and
A Taste of Honey's "Boogie Oogie Oogie." There were more can't-miss disco singles than most people realize -- ten more discs of this caliber wouldn't do the wrongly maligned style full justice.
