Sevag's 1997 work
Bridge, heads into more classical and acoustic territory, but keeps the fusion of jazz, ambient and ethnic elements that form his trademark style. "Cobalt" features an open improvisation between
Sevag and his wife Maria on violin, while "Spiral" includes a string quartet and "Hanging Gardens" uses the Philharmonia of London's talents to create a chamber-jazz atmosphere. As a result, Bridge's experimentation culminates in some of Sevag's most expressive and nuanced work. ~ Heather Phares
