Issued four years after
Stewart's fatal automobile accident, this album features the D.C. native's recordings from 1965 to 1970. Highlights are two classics: "Cross My Heart" (1967), and his last great composition, the understated ballad "How Nice It Is" (1965). Nothing else ranks as high, but the lilting "I'm in Love (Oh Yes I Am)," "Why Do I Love You So," "Tell It Like It Is," and "By the Time I Get to Phoenix" are good also-rans. ~ Andrew Hamilton
