The choice of covers on the
Divine Hammer EP is infinitely better than the
Aerosmith one on the
Cannonball EP.
Hank Williams' "I Can't Help It (If I'm Still in Love With You)" may not be as good as their
Beatles and
Who takes, but like the cover of "Drivin' on 9," on
Last Splash, it proves again that they've got the right cooking if country is the dish. But again, the other two tracks here are barely worthy of time spent on your stereo.
Dinosaur Jr.'s
J Mascis tries his hand at harmonizing with
Deal on a new recording of the LP's "Do You Love Me Now Jr.?" with irritating results (like mixing sherbet and sh*t), and "Hoverin" is just a herky-jerky piece of nothing.
