For the Love of the Wounded is indeed that evocative. It is music bred from early '90s hardcore that retains the style's metallic crunch but expands it into a driving melodic rock. Acoustic guitars, smart dynamics that switch between lush and tight, and literary lyrics that sting of political/self awareness all go along for the ride.
For the Love of the Wounded is an original effort that retains some of hardcore's key characteristics -- it is active not passive, honest not contrived. ~ Matthew Kantor
