Former
High Fashion vocalist
Meli'sa Morgan inked a solo deal with Capitol in the late '80s as the group was signing their own deal. She was soon a star and then became an obscurity. Her second album for the label was one of the hottest urban contemporary items in 1987.
Morgan scored both sassy uptempo hits and a romantic duet with
Kashif, "Love Changes." Her fiery, sensual vocals and even hotter looks put her on the covers of many music and fashion magazines geared toward the urban contemporary/Quiet Storm female audience. It didn't hurt that the album was nicely produced and arranged, well-packaged, and perfectly sequenced to vary her sound and appeal. ~ Ron Wynn
