Jimmy Witherspoon straddled blues, R&B, and jazz throughout his five-decade career, and few vocalists have done it so elegantly and so well. This four-disc, 100-track set chronicles his early years from the 1940s through the early '60s, cutting off just as he signed to the jazz label Prestige Records. Included is his signature tune "Ain't Nobody's Business," which he tracked for Shelter Records in 1949, and many more of his early gems.
