German metalcore group
Caliban released their eighth studio album, 2012's
I Am Nemesis, 15 years after their formation. As on its previous releases, the band delivers brutal riffs, growled and screamed vocals with some clean passages thrown in for good measure, and a few melodic death metal elements. The opening track, "We Are the Many," features guest appearances by singers Mitch Lucker (from
Suicide Silence) and Marcus Bischoff (from Germany's other major metalcore band,
Heaven Shall Burn).
I Am Nemesis is also available as a special edition with an eight-track bonus EP entitled Coverfield Pt. II, which includes cover versions of songs by
Rammstein,
Mötley Crüe,
At the Gates, and others. ~ Christian Genzel
