Rhyme Time: Kids Animal Rhymes features singalong versions of well-known nursery rhymes, as performed by the Hit Crew and a children's vocal group. Unlike many contemporary children's albums,
Kids Animal Rhymes makes no attempt to be hip or cool, which is a good thing. Unfortunately, though, the album errs too much in the other direction at times, and the overly simple instrumentation and singsongy vocals from the children become grating to all but the youngest of ears. However, there are a few moments the entire family can enjoy, such as the more sedate versions of "Bingo," "Old McDonald Had a Farm," and "The Teddy Bear's Picnic." With versions of songs like "The Glow Worm," "Six Little Ducks," and "Three Little Kittens," the album goes a little bit deeper into children's songs than some collections do, but it's still an adequate children's album at best. ~ Heather Phares
