Little Mo' McCoury may indeed be the "first-ever all-bluegrass CD for kids," but it's no walk down Sesame Street.

Rob, Jason Carter, and Alan Bartram have constructed what should have been the soundtrack for the hallucinatory live-action Country Bears film that featured Christopher Walken as an evil banker trying to shut down Country Bear Hall, where the furry foursome were staged to hold their big reunion concert. Classic children's songs like "I've Been Working on the Railroad," "This Old Man," and "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star" are given the pure backwoods bluegrass treatment, rollicking solos and all, making this a joy to listen to at any age and a whole lot easier to digest for parents than a man in a purple dinosaur suit telling the children how much he loves them. ~ James Christopher Monger
