Ah Motorama! Rancid patina, rumpled beauty, colourist guitars and the old-fashioned vocals of Vladislav Parshin. Following the ‘cold-wave’ smack of Alps back in 2010, and then Calendar (2012), Poverty (2015) and Dialogues (2016), Many Nights has come out at just the right moment. Despite more recent releases, the cold yet haunting beauty of Alps has yet to wear away. A rarity. Both romantic and natural, the swift − 27-minute-long − Many Nights basks in a Pop light, with shining synthesisers casting a shadow over the distinctive and instantly recognisable Russian guitars. We’re wondering why Motorama hasn’t had a breakthrough yet… One thing’s for sure, the trio are one the most exciting groups in the dense jungle of independent bands of the last ten years. © Charlotte Saintoin/Qobuz
