On this confessional, folk-based outing,
BeJae Fleming focuses a keen eye on the ups and downs of relationships. Occasionally ("Your Love Is a Car"), she tries too hard to be clever, but the lion's share of this well-produced package boasts an emotional honesty that makes it stand out.
Fleming's vocals -- redolent of
Shawn Colvin and
Christine Lavin -- are warm and consistently likable, and the backup is rich and strong. Well worth a listen. ~ Jeff Burger
