A somewhat misleading set that states nowhere on its packaging that it is a live album, nor does it state where or when it was recorded. Plus, the recording quality sounds sort of hollow, with the vocals not always coming through very loudly or clearly. A good variety of material is included, though, from the fiddle workout on "Orange Blossom Special" to the
Monroe classics "Uncle Penn," "Mule Skinner Blues" and "Blue Moon of Kentucky." The inclusion of
Hank Williams' "I Saw the Light" is also a highlight.
Monroe and his band are very sharp throughout the album, though one wishes the recording quality was also.
