Fajardo indeed deserves his title of "Mister Pachanga," and
Sabor Guajiro is solid stuff for the pachanga fan. Most or all of the tunes feature the vocals, flute, and punctuation that keep pachanga mildly interesting. (Otherwise it is a very simple Latin beat with strings.) Bossa nova standards "Recado" and "Murmurio" are wonderful melodies, the latter with vibes. Apart from these diversions, however,
Sabor Guajiro's appeal lies squarely in one's appreciation of pachanga. ~ Tony Wilds
