Mixtape king Drama and trap pioneer Jeezy return to their roots on the fun triumph of Snofall, reuniting for the first time since 2005 mixtape Trap or Die and delivering a nonstop push of heavyweight beats that wouldn't sound too out of place on a Gangsta Grillz tape from that earlier era. Drama's hyped-up interjections, the continuous flow between songs, and the instrumentals made of eerie trap hi-hats, bumping bass, and bombastic horn samples all give Snofall an almost nostalgic throwback feel. The puffed-up confidence of the 2000s comes through in the deep funk of "Still Havin" and the '80s synth pop sample-built "I Aint Gone Hold Ya." Several featured appearances from younger artists bring Snofall a little more into the age it was made in, with 42 Dugg delivering a hungry verse in "Put the Minks Down," EST Gee slithering his way through the menacing "Scarface," and Lil Durk absolutely shining in a bloodthirsty performance on "Most Hated," one of the most intricate and interesting beats on the mixtape.
