The Huntingtons make the sort of punk-pop music that brought bands like blink-182 and Green Day into the mainstream. What makes them even more interesting is that they are apparently a Christian band (although nothing in their lyrics would give you that impression at all). Basically, this not only means that it is a very familiar sound, but also a watered-down version of that sound because of the lyrical direction. The band knows its punk, and manages to come up with some very catchy choruses, especially on "Really Really" and "That Guy Stole My Girl." The Huntingtons also serve up a cutesy tribute to the '80s ("80's Girl"), which is fun but lyrically brain-dead. Surprisingly, they do have the potential to write good punk lyrics, especially on "Nobody Likes Me," which is actually a touching anthem for loners. But, overall, this is mostly an inoffensive alternative to secular punk-pop. Being what it is, it is fine, but in the larger picture there is nothing that a casual listener or even a fan of secular punk would find on this album that has not been done better elsewhere. ~ Bradley Torreano
