This album, which came out in late 1991, is not noticeably different from any other release by
the Mighty Lemon Drops, save the songs are more uniformly upbeat and the songwriting is a tad weaker. "My Shadow Girl" starts off as a promising piece of psychedelia before the drums kick in, making the song indistinguishable from the rest. "You Don't Appreciate Anything" is probably the best thing here, or at least the most reminiscent of the time when comparing
the Mighty Lemon Drops to
Echo & the Bunnymen seemed legitimate. All in all,
Sound is a reminder of how most alternative rock, in the months before
Nirvana broke, was just as boring and predictable as anything in the mainstream.
