This live recording, made in Seattle in 1998, captures the considerable charms of both
Neko Case and
Carolyn Mark. It's a weepy, intimate affair, perhaps a bit ragged for some tastes, but fans of progressive country will revel in the mix of twang and attitude that these two dole out. Rollicking tunes like "Not a Doll" are nicely offset by doleful ballads like "She's Leaving Town." An unassuming and pleasing effort. ~ Tim Sheridan
