Florida metalcore quartet
Seventh Star make the implicit Christian themes of their first two albums a bit more overt on
The Undisputed Truth. Seemingly a loosely connected concept album about apocalypse and spiritual rebirth,
The Undisputed Truth covers topics ranging from World War III (in a song titled, logically enough, "World War Three") to environmental devastation with an overall sense that, even with the possibility of salvation in the distance, humanity is pretty much screwed. Musically, the album is somewhat less dispirited, featuring energetic hardcore riffing at speed metal tempos and sporting a handful of slamming, anthemic tunes like the scene-setting title track. Overall, however, there's little here that will attract listeners who aren't already Christian-leaning metalcore fans. ~ Stewart Mason
