The important distinction in Spectrum's 2014 compilation is that this is not the best of Graham Parker, it's the best of Graham Parker & The Rumour, which means this double-disc concentrates on Parker's '70s heyday. Many of the best moments of Howlin' Wind, Heat Treatment, Stick to Me, Squeezing Out Sparks, and The Up Escalator are here -- "Hold Back the Night," "Hotel Chambermaid," "Soul Shoes," "White Honey," "Howling Wind," "Back to Schooldays," "Local Girls," "Passion Is No Ordinary Word," "You Can't Be Too Strong," "Mercury Poisoning" -- and while there are some songs that perhaps could've snuck onto here as well, what's here showcases one of the best groups of their time at their best.
