Give the producers of
Todd Rundgren: Reconstructed credit for at least one thing: its
Todd-as-Neo cover art and title foreshadowed the Matrix Reloaded and Matrix Revolutions nonsense that would be the biggest pop-culture flameout of 2003. Otherwise, there's not much to distinguish
Reconstructed, another in Purple Pyramid/Cleopatra's line of pedestrian, faceless remixes of classic rock standards. Here, there's just familiar drum loops, predictably chopped vocal lines, and a pointless finished project that's not even interesting as a novelty or curiosity. It's just a piece of bad product. ~ Stephen Thomas Erlewine
